The UN Security Council today extended the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). It advises and supports the Iraqi government and people in promoting inclusive political dialogue and reconciliation at the national and local levels, on the electoral process, on dialogue with its neighbours, and on the protection of human rights and judicial and legal reforms.
Today, the UN Security Council also extended the sanctions measures in South Sudan and the mandate of the associated expert panel. Switzerland supported the extension of both mandates in the Security Council.
